Zaila Rosli was the Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered Global Business Services Malaysia. She led
the Corporate Affairs team to strategise for delivery of communications, public affairs, community investment
and sustainability agenda for the organisation.
At Standard Chartered, she acted as Corporate Affairs key person in the governance meetings and advisor to the
Leaders Council on regulatory and policy developments affecting the communications, public affairs, community
investment and sustainability agenda in Malaysia.
Coupled with more than 20 years of working experience in various fields including banking, media, government
and public relations and having held various stints in organizations such as Bank Negara Malaysia, Utusan
Melayu (M) Berhad, Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and Standard Chartered, Zaila brings with her
array of knowledge related to government, public, and media relations.
In her previous role with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Zaila was appointed Special Officer for
Communications to the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek. Prior to
that, she held various public relations leadership roles with agencies under the Ministry. She also has
significant experience working in the news media including a six-year stint as a feature writer at a Malay
language newspaper Mingguan Malaysia and a role as a broadcast journalist with ntv7.
